Welcome to this simple webpage developed for media interested in the wedding of HRH Princess Maria-Laura of Belgium and Mr William Isvy. You will find, below, information about the wedding, a short biography of the couple, some pictures and videos and all necessary contacts. This website will be updated regularly. Please don't share the link with the public. This is strictly a website for media/press. Accreditations for journalists / photographers/ tv - Pools
You will need to register before the day of the wedding if you wish to cover the event on-site and we will need to limit the number of accreditations. You will need to hold an official press card to be accredited. Access inside of the Cathedral and to the courtyard of the town hall will be limited.
Please note that this is a private wedding and our media relations policies may differ from those of the Royal Palace. We thank you for your understanding. We will limit the number of journalists/photographers/TV crews present on the day. Most planned events will be private.
The accredited national and international media will be able to have a position in front of the Cathedral with a good view on arrivals/departures -on the right and the left of the main doors, plus the platform on the right- . For the exit you will have the choice between the position on the main square in front of the Cathedral with a nice view on the steps and/or the right of the main door on the top of the steps with a good view of the exit door of the Cathedral. Journalists/TV crew and photographers need to arrive between 11h45 and 13h.
No access inside of the Cathedral will be granted to TV/photographers with an exception for Belgian based official photographers/tv working often with pools for royal activities.
Following discussion with/between agencies and photographers:
-the agency PHOTO NEWS will be present in the courtyard of the City Hall on Saturday morning and share the pictures with the colleagues members of the pool and present at the wedding. TV stations can attend if they want to and must be there at 9am (after special accreditation in advance). No access will be granted inside the city hall. I will distribute some handout pictures shortly after the civil celebration to all accredited agencies and journalists (mostly arrival/departure).
-the agency BELGA and a camera of VRT TV will have a few minutes inside of the Cathedral at the beginning of the celebration at 14h30 and share the pictures/footage with all members of the pool present at the wedding shortly after.
I will also handout additional pictures from our own photographer (city hall, cathedral, family picture in the evening) at several stages in the day (please contact us to be on the list and receive them). We will also post the link on this media page.
No access to the media positions will be granted without an accreditation. An official press card is required to be accredited. Please contact herve.verhoosel@gmail.com

Short biography of the couple
About William & Laura
De heer William Isvy, Frans en Brits onderdaan, is geboren in Parijs en is de zoon van een Britse
moeder en een Frans-Marokkaanse vader. Hij bracht het grootste deel van zijn jeugd door in
Londen en behaalde zijn baccalaureaat aan het Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle. Daarna
behaalde hij een licentiaat in financiën aan de McGill University in Montreal.
Na zijn studies begon hij een professionele loopbaan in Londen op de afdeling fusies en
overnames van een grote Amerikaanse investeringsbank. Hij werkt nu in de sector
vermogensbeheer.
William is een fervent tennisser en reiziger, twee interesses die hij deelt met H.K.H. Prinses
Maria Laura.

M. William Isvy, de nationalité française et britannique, est né à Paris, d’une mère britannique
et d’un père franco-marocain. Il a vécu la plus grande partie de son enfance à Londres. Il y
obtient son baccalauréat au Lycée français Charles de Gaulle. Il décroche ensuite une licence
en finance à l'Université McGill à Montréal.
Après ses études, il entame une carrière professionnelle à Londres au sein du département
fusions-acquisitions d'une grande banque d'investissement américaine. Il travaille aujourd'hui
dans le secteur de la gestion d'actifs.
William est un passionné de tennis et un grand voyageur, deux intérêts qu’il partage avec
S.A.R. la Princesse Maria Laura.

HRH Princess Maria-Laura of Belgium
La Princesse Maria-Laura a étudié le chinois et les relations internationales à l 'Institut des langues orientales à Paris. Après un stage à New York, elle est partie en 2012 à Shanghai pour travailler dans le secteur privé. Après deux années en Chine, Laura est rentrée en Europe, à Londres, pour faire de la recherche dans un “think tank”, avant de passer un master en Affaires internationales et diplomatie à la “School of Oriental and African Studies” (SOAS).
Elle a ensuite travaillé pendant trois ans à la Banque Européenne pour la reconstruction et le développement (BERD) pour rejoindre en 2020 une importante fondation philanthropique ou elle travaille aujourd’hui comme analyste dans le secteur du changement climatique.
Laura partage avec William son vif intérêt pour l'environnement et le changement climatique.

"It is the beautiful Brussels City Hall, located on the Grand 'Place, which will welcome, on September 10, Laura and William for their civil wedding.
The couple wanted this civil ceremony to be very private, and only immediate family will attend. The civil witnesses will be Princess Laura's sisters - Princesses Luisa and Laeticia - and William's brother and sister.
The choice of Brussels to organize this wedding is very symbolic for the couple. It is above all the city where Princess Laura lived a few years ago but this is also for her the opportunity to introduce Brussels and Belgium to her in-laws.
It is also in this same Town Hall that Laura's parents, Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz were married on September 22, 1984.
The religious wedding will be organized in the Cathedral of Saints Michel and Gudule during a Catholic celebration with disparity of cult on September 10 at 2:30 p.m.
Guests will begin to arrive shortly after 1 p.m. It will be celebrated by Cardinal Joszef De Kesel, Archbishop of Mechelen Brussels.
The couple wanted the songs to play an important role during this celebration. Christian and Jewish songs will be performed.
500 Belgian and foreign guests were invited to take part in the celebration, including the royal family as a whole.
In addition to the parents, the brothers and sisters of the brides as well as some very close friends will actively participate in the organization of this celebration and welcome of the guests."

C'est la salle des mariages de l ‘Hotel de Ville de Bruxelles, située sur la Grand ‘Place, qui accueillera, le 10 septembre, Laura et William pour leur mariage civil. Le couple a tenu à ce que cette cérémonie soit très privée, et seule la famille proche y participera.
Les témoins civils seront les sœurs de la Princesse Laura -les Princesses Luisa et Laeticia- et le frère ainsi que la sœur de William.
Le choix de Bruxelles pour organiser ce mariage est très symbolique pour le couple. C'est avant tout la ville ou la Princesse Laura a habité mais aussi pour elle l’occasion de la faire découvrir à sa belle-famille.
C’est aussi dans ce même Hotel de Ville que les parents de Laura, La Princesse Astrid et le Prince Lorenz se sont mariés le 22 septembre 1984.
Le mariage religieux, sera organisé en la Cathédrale Saints Michel et Gudule lors d’une célébration catholique avec disparité de culte le 10 septembre à 14heures 30. Les invites commenceront à arriver peu après 13 heures.
Il sera célébré par le Cardinal Joszef De Kesel, Archevêque de Malines Bruxelles.
Le couple a tenu à ce que les chants jouent un rôle important pendant cette célébration. Des chants chrétiens et juifs seront proposés.
500 invites belges et étrangers ont été conviés pour prendre part à la célébration, y compris la famille royale dans son ensemble.
En plus des parents, les frères et sœurs des maries ainsi que quelques amis très proches participeront eux même de façon active à l’organisation de cette célébration et l’accueil des invites."

Meeting for the accreditated press
Accredited media will be welcomed from 11h45 at the bottom of the stairs of the cathedral.
We ask the accredited media to arrive between 11h45 and 13h. You will have time to take your position, record some sets, etc. I will be able to give you the latest details around 12h and will try to give access to the Cathedral to photographers.tv crews/journalists for 30 min from 12h. The doors open for the guests from 1 pm to 2 pm. Guests will arrive by the main stairs. The ceremony will start at 14h30, just after the arrival of the royal family and the couple. The couple and their guests will leave by the main stairs. Please note that the parking will be restricted around the cathedral. Please take your press card and an official photo ID with you.
